CInergy International Speaks to the Association of Proposal Management Professionals

CInergy International was invited by leadership of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP.org) to speak with members attending their annual convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on the subject of Competitive Intelligence (CI) and related technologies.

The Association of Proposal Management Professionals is a professional organization whose mission is to advance the arts, sciences, and technology of new business acquisition and to promote the professionalism of those engaged in those pursuits. APMP has quickly gained international recognition as a reputable professional organization assisting those in the proposal writing and new business acquisition fields.

Jeffrey Toewe, Technology Director of CInergy International, led the lecture. The lecture was based on the topic of Competitive Intelligence and how it closely relates to the proposal writing discipline. Jeffrey focused on common topics in CI, including competitor research and analysis, strategic positioning and product differentiation. The session was intended to shed light on how CI information sources and analysis can help proposal-writing professionals write more compelling offers in light of their competition.

The APMP conference participants were particularly interested in sources and methods for collecting CI information. Participants asked questions related to discovering information on competitors from personal and commercial / public sources. CInergy International offered advice on choosing reliable sources of CI data and analysis, and encouraged participants to always learn whatever is possible about competitors and their product & service offerings prior to writing a new proposal.

"Our participants seemed very keen on learning about how CI can help them write more effective proposals" said Kelli Stephenson, Chief Operating Officer of the APMP. "In session surveys collected, we found participants had significant interest in learning more about the topic of Competitive Intelligence, and how it can help write more effective proposals. One survey even mentioned that the lecturer and material were the most effective and credible information they found to be presented at the conference."

CInergy International Lectures at Henley Management College

August 15, 2004 - CInergy International was invited by the Henley Management College (HMC) in Oxfordshire, England to speak with executive MBA students on the subject of Competitive Intelligence (CI) technology.

The Henley MBA is a rigorous, challenging and career-orientated program that sets high standards of learning. It is consistently highly placed in MBA rankings and is one of few UK programs to receive triple accreditation from the major UK, US and European awarding bodies.

The lecture served as a supplement to the MBA program's CI elective. The emphasis of the session was on helping the students to understand how CI technology is applied to real-world corporate projects with exacting requirements. Case studies were presented and an open Q&A session provided an opportunity for HMC students to learn about specific CI information management challenges faced by some of CInergy International's clients.

The MBA students demonstrated a strong understanding of CI concepts and methodologies during the lecture. This enabled CInergy International to engage the students in a constructive discussion on more complex people, process and technology issues faced by CI departments in real-world large corporations.

"The CI course at Henley is the first of its kind in the UK." said Ian Turner, Director of Graduate Qualification Programmes at Henley. "The students are introduced to the basic concepts of CI but what they really appreciate are practical examples of CI in action. CInergy was able to draw on experiences to show how CI systems can deliver value to businesses. This was a real learning benefit for our students who are all practicing managers".
